In 1970 three churches agreed to
share one building to hold their worship
services. The three churches of St Cyprian's
Anglican, Iona Presbyterian and Hillcrest
United were worshipping in portables and they
joined together to erect the current building
at 1080 Finch Avenue East.
The land is owned by the Anglican Diocese and
the building is owned jointly by the three
churches. There are three large worship areas
in the building so each church has its own
name and congregation and worship time, but
fall under the Tri-Congregational Churches
umbrella. This allows joint services at
special times of the church year, as well as
social activities and outreach in the
community. When Hillcrest Church disbanded in
2003, their third of the partnership was taken
over by St. Christopher's Chinese Anglican
Church. As well, the building with its unique
concept of three large worship areas allows
the rooms to be used by many community
organizations for meetings and recreational
activities.
We are fortunate to be accommodated in the
church building at the address below. As a
member of the Tri-Congregational Churches, the
Iona Presbyterian congregation is sharing the
facilities with the St. Cyprian's Anglican
congregation, and the St. Christopher Chinese
Anglican congregation.
You are welcome to
come for a visit, but it's better to call
first to make sure someone will be available
to show you around and make you feel at home.
